Hello All,

My name is Elliot, and I am out of KCRQ in San Diego. I am currently working on a Citation II simulator and this forum will certainly help.

Thanks,
Elliot

Hello Elliot!

Citation II simulator? Nice!! I would love to see pics on that, buddy. It would be nice to see something other than a heavy as a home flightdeck.

Now that sounds like a lot of fun, a lot of work as well, but the end result should be amazing. Can't wait to see the pics.

Hello again,

I am only in the planning stages, but have been compiling research over the past few months. I have discovered in the past few days, that an Encore (560) would be easier to build opposed to a II (550).

I have decided upon a few major things:

I will be using OpenCockpits IOCards with SIOC programming.

I will be using the Jet45 system from FlightDeckSoft.com.

Past that, it is mostly open.

I have found that the Jet45's systems (RMUs PFDs EFIS Control Panels and MFD) will all accurately simulate the Encore's Avionics.

This is what I hope to have completed by the end of the build, minus a few non-necessary items.

In response to above:

I like to go against the grain, which is why I chose a Citation opposed to a bigger deck (i.e. 737, A320). I find that almost everybody out there is trying to build a 737, and it pleases me that I am building something non-generic. In addition, I have a good amount of access to a Citation, so it seems most logical.

Look Forward to Working,
Elliot

Yup, I also use the OpenCockpits IOCards. They are very economical and with SIOC, you can almost program them to simulate anything.

Yeah, that was my motivation to go with them as well. SIOC is just all around excellent.

It's a pretty straight forward language to program in. If you have some programming background, it will be a breeze to code in SIOC. I made LiveDISPATCH (www.livedispatch.org) in Visual C# and I must say that SIOC is so similar in syntax and structure that I am getting the hang of it very quickly.

Yes, I understand the language well and I think it was brilliant for the OC guys to do it that way. However I do think that the time will come for OC to have to redo its site (with new pictures and manuals) and get someone from the FS community to translate their documents and programs the right way.

I agree and me being a webmaster AND fully bilingual, I would be able to help on both fronts. ;-)
